Charmian Miller

Board Member & Treasurer

Charmian has over 24 years of experience as a Chief Financial Officer in the non-profit industry in Manatee and Sarasota counties and has an extensive background with Government funding sources.

Charmian is a Certified Grant Writing Specialist and has an expansive fundraising background with Federal, State and Local Government funding. Charmian moved to Manatee County in 1987. She joined the Feeding Empty Little Tummies Board of Director’s in 2017 and currently serves as the Board Treasurer.

As Chief Financial Officer for The Florida Center for Early Childhood, Inc. Charmian facilitates management and coordination of all accounting functions. She supervises all fiscal reporting, contract reviews and agreement renewals with government agencies (local, state and federal) and private foundations to ensure accuracy and compliance with funding guidelines.

Charmian works closely with the Leadership Team in creating and maintaining annual agency/programmatic budgets, develops, coordinates and supervises all financial and administrative functions of the agency, reporting to the CEO.

She oversees cash, investment and asset management, and initiated and managed the redesign and upgrade of the agency accounting system. Charmian also develops and maintains systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets as well as coordinates preparation for and execution of annual agency audit and financial statements. Charmian is chair of the agency Risk Management Team and a member of the Continuous Quality Assurance Committee.
